Leon joined Majestic Financial and Raymond James in May of 2021, after spending seven years at Edward Jones. He has always considered himself a developer, striving to build something better every day, and that is exactly what he did when he had to build his business from scratch at Edward Jones. His discipline and stewardship allowed him to build a successful branch by developing trusting relationships with clients. Leon understands that people put their blood, sweat and tears into building the wealth they invest, and he strives to put the same effort and care into managing it.
Leon graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor’s in Sociology and minor in Psychology. He worked at Stryker as a welder full-time while attending school and after graduating transitioned to the Quality department. He soon realized that he wanted a different career path that would allow him to truly help people. Being a financial consultant allows him to improve people’s lives through simply having a conversation and building a plan, which incorporates two things Leon is passionate about, people and developing and implementing strategies to help them reach their goals. |
This passion led him to passing the CFP® exam in March of 2023, and becoming a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. Leon strives to be a coach and teacher for his clients because he understands that a lot of people are not aware of the options available to them when it comes to investing. That is why he likes to keep things simple and make it as easy as possible to work with him. Leon prides himself on his attention to detail and ability to make the adjustments in clients’ investment strategies to help make them successful.
Leon was born and raised in Kalamazoo, MI and now resides in Portage, MI with his wife Carrie and their three beautiful children, Luke, Piper and Jack. Leon loves being outside and participating in a wide range of sports with his family. Personal fitness is also a high priority in the Bennett household with Carrie being a clinical nutritionist and owning her own health and wellness company, and Leon getting his certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) certification before his financial services career began.
Leon strives to make those around him better, every single day. He joined Raymond James to be able to serve his clients better by having less restrictions and more freedom to do what is truly in their best interest.
