Sean is a coach by nature, known exclusively as Coach Budlong by countless numbers of baseball, hockey, football, and volleyball players. He loves working in the investment industry because he feels as a CFP® professional, he is coaching his clients to pursue their financial dreams. He spends a considerable amount of time educating clients and their families on the different ways to reach their financial goals and wants his clients to truly understand how the investing world can work for them. |
As a number oriented person, Sean can look at investment construction and identify risk and reward, work with the client to adjust the strategy as goals and needs change, and easily communicate these changes. He has a passion for helping clients plan for their future by ensuring good decisions are made now and without creating more risk than necessary.
Sean grew up in Plymouth, MI and later attended Alma college to receive his bachelor’s degree. While working in sales, raising a son, and coaching sports, he decided to go back to school and received a Master’s in Business Administration from Western Michigan University in 1997. Sean currently resides in Kalamazoo, MI with his wife Laurie. They have two kids, Josh and Jessica, and enjoy spending family time whenever they can all gather in the same state.
Sean co-founded Majestic Financial and joined Raymond James in 2021 because he saw an opportunity that would allow him to help his clients pursue new heights. At Majestic, he can continue to work in his client’s best interests rather than a company’s interest.
